Meet our sisters!

Sister Jennifer Marie
I grew up on a farm and most of my school years revolved around sports, family and friends.  I graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Sports Medicine. I was minding my own business, working as an athletic trainer at General Motors, when I realized something was missing in my life.  I found it, and my true self, as a Sister of Notre Dame!!  I’m still in formation in the community, but I feel like I’m right where I need to be.  God is good!!

Sister Mary Madelena

I spent the night before I entered the convent saying goodbye to my boyfriend, still trying to help him understand my decision.  I too struggled to understand God’s mysterious call and was very attracted to marriage.  But now, as a Golden Jubilarian celebrating 50 years as a Sister, I understand God’s deep love and why I was called and responded.

Sister Mary Delores
Few believed me when I first told them I wanted to be a sister.  I was talkative, liked to have fun, enjoyed water skiing at Kelleys Island, and loved my family and friends.  Some thought this wouldn’t fit religious life, but the opposite is true.  The joy shown by the sisters I knew inspired me to enter the community.  I don’t water ski any more, but I still have fun with my sisters, family and friends.  And I know I’m where God wants me to be.

Sister Mary Lawrence
I was in my Prom dress, waiting for my date to come, when I finally got up the nerve to call the Superior of the Sisters of Notre Dame.  Because I was planning to stay out all night, I was taken aback that she wanted to see me the next day!  I did go to see her the next day, and the rest is history!  Forty-two years later, I am still happy to be an SND.
